Newsletter #1
Are you eating healthy food, but not losing weight?
The
body has a particular window of opportunity in
which you can make changes, before it adapts to the changes you
have made, whether that change is exercise, diet, nutrition,
supplementation, medication, etc. This window is
approximately 4 to 6 weeks. This is also why it takes
about 4 weeks to break an addiction to something. The same
window of opportunity comes into play.
Once you pass through the window of opportunity the
body adapts itself to maintain its size and mass based
on your new way of eating or exercising (so it tries to stay big). You begin
to gain weight again and in time possibly put on even more
weight. This is what is known as the Yo-Yo dieting
effect. Your body is confused and wants to maintain
itself because it believes you are going to get bigger again. It
becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
What needs to be done is you need to be one step
ahead of this adaptation. You need to make more changes
so that you body does not feel that it needs to snap back into
being fat again, but rather you want it to snap back
into being thin. Essentially reversing the Yo-yo.
These changes do not need to be drastic, but it is important
to recognise that they need to be made in order to stay
ahead of the body's natural tendency to adapt. Of
course knowing what to change, how and when is important. It
requires changing balances of proteins, carbohydrate,
fat, sodium and other nutrients along with changes in exercise
routine and supplementation.
Diets, how they work
Diets
are essentially variations of intake of proteins, carbohydrates,
fats, sodium and potassium and other nutrients. Normally what is
done when someone creates a new diet is that they reduce
the levels of the nutrients in certain categories, like
lowering carbohydrates and/or fats. Typically, you are
deprived of these nutrient for a prolonged period of time.
You begin to lose weight. The question of whether you are losing
lean tissue mass, or body fat mass, is never really addressed. Yes,
you are losing weight, but if that is lean tissue mass,
then this is very dangerous. You want to lose body fat
tissue, not only around your waist, but importantly around your
organs as well. Very little research is done by people who
create diets as to whether the diet is harmful in the
long run or not and what sort of biochemical effects
the diet is having on your endocrine and adrenal systems. For
instance, your brain requires carbohydrates to function properly
so being on a very low carbohydrate diet for too long can lead to
tiredness, irritability and an inability to think straight.
What can you do?
BodyRenovator
has been designed by John Terilli to take all these factors into
account and create a well balanced system which
constantly keeps you ahead of your body's adaptation cycle.
Each month a new DVD with a new eating program
(which does not deprive you of anything important) and a
new exercise program are released. He also gathers
useful information about various aspects of his
research and talks about which supplements are the best
to use to improve your results. John has been researching and
developing this system for over 30 years. You don't have to go
out and do a degree in nutrition or courses in exercise
physiology to understand what to do to say ahead of the game. In
fact you don't even need to know any of it, you just need to
follow the simple instructions and you will be amazed by
the easy results (have a look at the
testimonials to see). Better yet you won't get bored because
it all changes after 4 weeks to something new.
EVEN Better you get to eat foods that you thought made you fat
in the first place like pizza, ice-cream and beer.
